As part on an ongoing series of simple, yet effective exercises taken from tai chi and/or qigong to help to open, loosen and relax the body and mind.

Here Faye Li Yip of the Deyin Taijquan Institute covers a very simple routine for opening and looening the legs. This exercise provides an excellent primer for the performance of tai chi and qigong routines as well as being highly useful for people of all ages and physical conditions.

Please exercise mindfulness when performing these routines. Try to develop a sense of your body, as well as its restrictions and limits. By working slowly, a little each day, you can help to increase your range of movement.
