Tai Chi Eases Back Pain
Tests which were carried out by Chris Maher, Director of the The George Institute for Global Health and a professor at the University of Sydney, in Australia have shown a 25% reduction in pain intensity in a study group who were practicing tai chi regularly for 40 minutes, twice a week, over an eight-week period. The results showed that Tai Chi significantly improved bothersome back pain symptoms (1.7 points on a 0-10 scale) whilst participants also stated they felt less pain-related problems and, as a result of their training experienced an improved quality of life.
