Interviews and Discussions

There are many ways to increase your knowledge of tai chi chuan, qigong and related arts, and arguably the most effective way is to practice, practice and practice. That being said, practice without objective questioning and clear information on what to do can prove fruitless.
Reading traditional texts, written by the original masters can of course be very helpful but also too can getting an idea of their views whcih can often come forth better via discussions and interviews.
As more and more events are staged in the various European countries and beyond, and as more of us travel to the increasing number of competitions there are many opportunities to share views and opinions on how these arts are taught and practiced.
Many of the major events feauture discussion groups which can help to illuminate aspects that were perhaps difficult to grasp for some or a little esoteric in the few writings that were available, particularly in the early days.
Whilst the majority of today's teachers are open and free in their teachings sometimes certain aspects can still be missed. Through interviews, with direct questioning, deeper insights are often gained as to the reasons, purpose and intentions on the way they teach what they do.
In these pages you will find material taken from various discussions that have taken place at some of the major internal arts events in Europe. The interviews were often conducted for particular magazines and journals with more coming through direct contact and at the encouragement of practitioners in Europe. A number of major, well-known figures are included but we also welcome lesser known individuals, particularly those who can help increase our knowledge of lesser-represented systems.
